WyCEHG

Wyoming Center for Environmental Hydrology and Geophysics

Modeling Approaches

A major aim of WyCEHG is to develop novel integrated modeling strategies that describe the fate and transport of water and its chemical constituents. Integrated process simulation tools will improve predictive understanding of hydrological processes and identify emergent research focus areas. We will build coupled surface/subsurface simulation tools that operate on temporal domains ranging from minutes to years and spatial domains ranging from point (infiltration) to basin (river discharge; groundwater recharge) using parallel computing resources. Initial modeling efforts will be on the adaptation of existing coupled models, which will inform our field instrument deployment.

In addition to computer modeling of hydrological processes, a substantial focus will be placed on the develop and application of new tools for hydrogeophysics, geophysical modeling and geochemical tracers.  Click on the links below to learn more.
