Research Interests:

My research focuses on nutrient cycling in natural, disturbed, and agricultural settings from the perspective of landscape and soil organic matter dynamics. I am interested in learning how interactions among landscapes, plant communities, and land use affect resiliency and degradation-recovery processes as applied to on-the-ground ecological restoration and sustainable management.

Extension:

I am most interested in using applied research as an extension tool. Engaging land owners, agency managers, conservationists, and others in planning and implementing problem-solving research provides the most effective learning situations for both researchers and managers. It also ensures relevant and practical results that address real production and management issues.
