9:30 A.M. – Greetings/Registration in Main lobby/ Vendors

Cello Choir Rehearsal- Directed by Dr. Michael Griffith

The UW Cello Festival Cello Choir is open to all participants.  There will be two levels of music, one for intermediate players and one for advanced. Advanced players are encouraged to play all selections. Indicate your level on the registration page. Music will be sent to you for preparation before the festival. 11:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. Technique Workshop with Lynn Harrell

Bring your cellos and be ready to experiment as Mr. Harrell helps us with techniques for beautiful tone production.

1:15 P.M.3:15 P.M. Cello Masterclass with Lynn Harrell

Lynn Harrell shares his mastery and insights with five lucky/talented cellists as they perform for us in an open masterclass.  If you are interested in playing on this masterclass, please indicate your desire on the registration page.  You will be asked to send in a live video recording for review.

3:15 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.  Q&A with Mr. Harell

4:00 P.M.4:30 P.M.  “‘Cello Making 101; What Every Cellists Needs to Know’.”

Luthier Christopher Dungey gives a presentation about the fine points of cello making.  As maker of Lynn Harrell’s instrument, he will share his unique perspective on the creative process.  Questions about the day-to-day maintenance of the cello will be addressed.
