The Department of Family & Consumer Sciences offers an on-campus program of study leading to a Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, including a specialization in Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS). The HDFS program provides a strong foundation in human development and family sciences while also allowing for personalized electives, experiences, and theses. We ground our graduate level education in preparing students to work with and study individuals and families within dynamic contexts across the lifespan. Our program develops students’ abilities to reason critically and ethically, understand integrative and interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving, and be self- and culturally- reflective.
