Human Development and Family Sciences
This degree option
provides a strong foundation in human development and family sciences, while
allowing for personalized electives, and internship experiences. Students with
this degree option will be prepared to work in a variety of settings serving
individuals and families across the life span or to continue their education at
the graduate level.
A minor in Human Development and Family
Sciences provides
students with coursework that can enrich and complement their primary area of
study. A minor provides students with a foundation in the basic principles and
knowledge of human development and family sciences. Students must complete a
total of 22 hours of coursework, including three required courses: FCSC 2121,
FCSC 2131, and FCSC 2133.
Upon completion of
our degree program, students have the option of submitting their transcripts
and materials to the National Council on Family Relationships to become a
Certified Family Life Educator. Our department was the first in the nation
