Outdoor Leadership

Freshmen Interest Groups

This FIG is at capacity and no longer accepting applications.

Areas of Interest:

Any student interested in the outdoors

FIG Description:

Join the Outdoor Program in discovering concepts in outdoor leadership! This FIG is heavily involved in programs, activities, and events of the Outdoor Program in addition to learning about outdoor leadership and adventure activities. This FIG will develop academic, transition, and research skills critical for success as a student.

This FIG has no early move-in requirements. The first Outdoor Program activity will be a climbing/camping trip September 7-8.

More information will be sent to students once enrollment in the FIG is complete. Most all the equipment for any of the planned outdoor activities will be provided; transportation, instruction and food are provided, too.

Please note: FIG students are welcome to add a Fall Outdoor Experience trip. There is no overlap with the scheduled Sept. 7-8 excursion. Those trips do go out prior to regular move-in, so students interested in those trips will be moving into their dorm rooms on Monday, August 26th. Registration for both Summer Outdoor Experience trips and Fall Outdoor Experience trips will open in March. More information can be found here.

Hall: Downey, Floor 2
