Engaged corporations and foundations are vital to the future of Wyoming's university.

Some of the biggest impacts across the University of Wyoming campus have come from the support of corporations and foundations.  Student by student, corporation- and foundation-supported scholarships have built a wealth of human capital. Gifts campus-wide have built buildings, created whole new programs, and underwritten research that changes the world as we know it.

Together, UW and its partners are helping to create the world of the future.

Why Corporations and Foundations Give

Foundations give because it is part of their core mission. Within closely defined parameters, foundations seek to make the world a better place. Corporations also give for the same reason-because they want to be good corporate citizens in their communities.  Both also seek a return on investment-that is, measureable outcomes confirm that they've made smart philanthropic decisions.

Corporations Who Match Their Employees' Charitable Gifts

Some corporations match the charitable gifts of their employees. Check with your human resources department to see if the company you work for has a matching program. Another option is to go to the online giving form (the Give Online link on the menu on the left).  Toward the bottom of the page is a matching gifts section.  Click on Click Here to find your Company to check if your company matches gifts.

Foundation Resource Center

The Foundation Resource Center at the University of Wyoming Foundation is a resource for faculty and staff for researching and approaching private foundations for funding. The FRC also provides guidance in grant writing and processes. At the same time, the staff manages the reporting requirements of foundation funders. Additionally, in a similar manner to the UW Foundation's major gift officers' work, the staff of the FRC seeks out relationships with private foundations as well as faculty affiliated with UW Institutional Priorities.
