Freshman Senate is a unique UW student organization dedicated to helping first-year students acquire leadership skills, important information, and resources helpful for success at the University of Wyoming. Freshman Senate is a natural channel for new students at UW to become involved on campus and in ASUW Student Senate later in their academic experience. Several current members of the ASUW legislative, executive and judicial branches of student government got their start at UW in Freshman Senate. Overall, Freshman Senate can be a great way to learn about what UW has to offer, and, it is a great way to meet other first-year students and dedicated UW faculty and staff members. Freshman Senate meets every Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the ASUW SenateChambers in the Wyoming Union. To get involved, just show up at a meeting and become a member. All students in their first year at UW are welcome to participate. "Freshman Senate is the premier student organization at UW to build community and gain leadership skills. It is also a great way to have a fun on campus. Through my involvement I built a base of knowledge and relationships that have assisted me throughout my time at UW." - Clayton Elliott
