What loan would work best for you?
A Short-Term Advance Application is an advance on your current semester Financial Aid. If approved, you would be eligible for up to one half of your remaining Financial Aid after all tuition and fees have been deducted. The loans can be disbursed 10 days prior to the first Financial Aid pass at the beginning of the semester and must be repaid by the end of the semester.
A Standard Short Term loan is based on employment. You will need proof of employment in the form of pay stubs or a letter from your employer. Again these loans must be repaid within the semester they are advanced. If you are a UW employee, we can set up a payroll deduction.
A Bridge Loan is for verified Study Abroad students only. This loan will allow you to access your Financial Aid prior to the beginning of the semester in order to pay required program expenses. Bridge loans may take up to two weeks to process and may only be verified by Kathy Bobbitt or Denise Jairell of Financial Aid and Ruth Shepherd or Anne Alexander of International Programs.
All loans require that you be a half time student or better, be in good standing with the University of Wyoming, Have a GPA of 2.0 or better and have a verified means of repayment.
