The UW Campus and Laramie

  • First, travel to Laramie. (View Map to University of Wyoming). Laramie is located at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 287, just 45 miles east of Cheyenne (on Interstate 25).

  • Next, find the campus. The UW campus is bounded by four streets: 9th Street on the West; Lewis Street on the North; 22nd Street on the East; and Grand Avenue on the South. 15th Street runs North/South and dissects the campus into halves: the West Campus which contains most of the academic and administrative departments; and the East Campus which contains most of the student housing and athletic facilities.

The UW Geological Museum is located on the West Campus near the corner of 9th and Lewis, along with the S.H. Knight Geology Building, the Earth Sciences Building  and the Wyoming Geological Survey. (View close up). Parking is available on Lewis Street and nearby metered lots. Handicap parking is available. (View campus parking map) Day parking permits are also available (View parking permit information).
