About the Faculty Development in Aging Mini-Grants:

Funded through the John P. Ellbogen Excellence Fund for Geriatric Education in the College of Health Sciences, the Faculty Development in Aging Mini-Grants were established to empower faculty to develop or advance their expertise in geriatrics and/or gerontology.  Mini-grants are funded for $1,500-$3,000 dollars are possible projects include:

• Travel funds to attend a national conference on aging
• Tuition to enroll in a mini-fellowship in aging at a University or Institute
• Tuition or travel support for an academic program/courses in aging
• Support of online self-directed study in aging
• Support for mini-fellowship of clinical/experiential work in aging (e.g., working with a mentor on a topic involving aging, participating in a clinical project involving aging, working within an interdisciplinary team on an aging project; developing a course with an aging component with experts in the field)
• Building a geriatric library, bibliography, film series, workshop series, etc. for a specific course/group/environment

Mini-grants can be for 12, 18, or 24 months and funds will be available to be applied to their intended use until February 28, 2015. Grants are available to UW full-time faculty, full-time UW extended-term academic professionals, and full-time faculty at both UW residency programs.

Current Call for Applications:

The Wyoming Geriatric Education Center is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Spring 2013 Faculty Development Aging Mini-Grants. The purpose of this call for applications is to enhance engagement between faculty within CHS as well as to increase the engagement in geriatrics between CHS faculty and faculty in other colleges. Applications are due by February 15, 2013.  Awards will be announced by March 1, 2013.
