The members of Alpha Tau Omega cling to one of the strongest heritages of any organization on the University of Wyoming Campus, founded in 1907 at the University of Wyoming. With local alumni including past Wyoming Senator Alan K. Simpson, Pete Simpson, Governor Mike Sullivan, and radio personality Curt Gowdy, it is easy to say that many famous ATO alumni from this chapter strongly exemplify the excellence found within the Alpha Tau Omega House at UW.
The chapter's membership is also very proud of the strong alumni network and they take pride in the close group of brothers, which they like to describe as a "laid-back group of gentlemen."
Some of the annual events include ATO Beach Week, Christmas Tree Hunt, Black Foot / White Foot Halloween Party, and the Bowery Ball. The membership of ATO also likes getting involved at UW and in the Laramie Community as a whole. Known for the annual Finals Week Study Break, they are also very involved with the Epson Center for Seniors and the Salvation Army.
