Throughout our lives, Chi Omega members are devoted to lifelong learning and scholarship.
Our collegiate experiences equip us to pursue knowledge with discipline and
sincerity. Chi Omega is centered around
six purposes that guide each member in their everyday lives. These are
remembered by our left hand:
·
Scholarship (pointer finger): The number one
reason why we are here.
·
Career Development (Middle finger): It rises
above the rest.
·
Friendship (Ring finger): The lifeline to the
heart.
·
Campus Activities (Pinky finger): Small but
important.
·
Community Service (Thumb): It touches all the
others.
High Standards of Personnel (Palm): It holds us
all together.
All of these can be seen in any Chi Omega because they are
the characteristics that tie us all together for a lifetime.
At the University of Wyoming, Chi Omega’s participate in
many campus activities including, ASUW, Multiple honoraries, Face AIDS,
Fellowship of Christian Activities, Albany County Safe Project, as well as some
collegiate athletics.
We also strive to promote awareness through our community
service endeavors some of which include, Make-A-Wish locally and nationally,
Take Back the Night to promote awareness about sexual assault and domestic
violence, Jackalope Jump for Special Olympics, and members are active in
awareness walks for AIDS, M.S., Breast Cancer, Martin Luther King Day as well
as others.
Today, a diverse and close group, the chapter holds
scholars, dancers, study buddies, movie buffs, artists, music lovers, and
spirited Poke fans. Tomorrow, they will
be future teachers, business women, doctors, lawyers, musicians, and
leaders.
While active membership in Chi Omega is only during our
collegiate years, you will make a difference in Chi Omega and Chi Omega will
make a difference in you.
