The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, home to academic programs, the Ruckelshaus Institute, and the new Biodiversity Institute at the University of Wyoming, advances the understanding and resolution of complex environmental and natural resources challenges by:
Through our work, we aim to build a culture of educated, informed citizens and leaders who think critically, make knowledgeable decisions, and apply collaborative process to sustain the health and profitability of our natural resources, which we recognize as fundamental to all aspects of life - including agriculture, extractive industries, tourism, and diverse ecological systems - in Wyoming, the West, and beyond.
Our program brings together the best science and collaborative process by drawing from the strengths of faculty from across UW's seven colleges. Through classes, workshops, facilitation, and service projects, we provide a breadth of experience as well as depth of understanding necessary to to make substantial contributions to the resolution of real-world environmental challenges.
Furthermore, we support the University of Wyoming's mission, which recognizes "environment and natural resources" as an area of distinction that Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain region must cultivate if we are to build a society to match our scenery.
