The Honors College welcomes grant applications to support research and creative work, specifically to support the cost of materials and related travel. Please note that grant requests should not exceed $3000. Grant applications must be submitted on an individual (per student) basis, even if the project is a collaboration with other students.

Application deadlines: Rolling (allow 4 weeks for application to be processed)
Applicant must have sophomore/ junior/ senior standing and be a current UW Honors College student in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
Applicant must have submitted a Capstone Project Initiation Form, which can be submitted as early as the sophomore year
Applicant must be working under the mentorship of a UW faculty member or an Honors College approved mentor
Grant funds are intended to assist students with consumable expenses such as software license fees, chemicals, rental fees for technical equipment, art/craft supplies, project-related travel, transportation, lodging, conference registrations, etc.
The grant does not purchase equipment such as computers, laptops, cameras, or lab equipment. However, students needing such equipment may apply for the cost of renting such equipment.
Travel expenses for collaborators are not eligible for reimbursement.
Time spent working on the project and regular living expenses are also not eligible for reimbursement.
Grant proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
IMPACT- Has the student provided a convincing argument that the project will contribute to their own scholarly and/or artistic development and that the project could have an important impact in their field?
PURPOSE- Is the purpose of the project clearly defined and articulated?
METHOD- Does the plan for the project seem feasible and allow the student to reach the objective(s)?
BUDGET- Are the consumable expenses for the project clearly outlined, justified, and reasonable?
Grant funds will be dispersed in the form of reimbursement or direct bill payment through, and at the discretion of the Honors College.
Grant applications must be submitted on an individual (per student) basis, even if the project is a collaboration with other students.
Grant recipients will be expected to submit the following to the Honors College at honors@uwyo.edu. Please submit within 30 days of completing the project.
Written summary of the project (less than 300 words), including how the funds helped attain project goals
Photo of recipient and/or the project for use by the Honors College.
