Blake McGee

Blake McGee is an associate professor in the Music Department at the University of Wyoming. His primary teaching areas are clarinet, musicology and music history. He received his masters and doctorate from the University of Oregon, and undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. As a recitalist and instructor, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and world, including recent engagements in China, Thailand, Montenegro, and Portugal. His specialized area of research is in single-reed design and adjustment and published a book, “ReedWorks,” in 2016.

Blake lives in Laramie, where he enjoys running, skiing, and baking. In 2017, he began a non-profit pop-up bread bakery, Solstice Acre Breads, which donates profits to food security charities in Albany County and provides first work experiences for young adults with special needs.
