Brian Cherrington

Brian D. Cherrington received a BA in History at Washington University in St. Louis in 1996.  He then completed a MS and PhD at Colorado State University studying reproductive endocrinology.  After obtaining his degrees, he completed postdoctoral positions at the University of California, San Diego and Cornell University.  He joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming in 2011 and was promoted to associate professor in 2017.  The major focus of his research laboratory is investigating how gene expression is regulated in female reproductive tissues, and he is a long time member of the Endocrine Society and Society for the Study of Reproduction.  He teaches Human Physiology (ZOO 3115) and an upper division class (ZOO 4735/HP 4152) focusing on the structure, function and regulation of mammalian genomes.  Combining his background in history and passion for science, he is also assisting with the study abroad History of Medicine class (HP 4152).
