Li Teng

Li is the Director of Student Success at the Honors College. She has her Doctor of Education in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University. Before embarking on her career in higher education in the United States, she completed her law degree in China.

 

Li Teng has enjoyed every moment with the Honors students, who are ambitious, hard-working, energetic, and enthusiastic.  In her role, Li gets to collaborate with UW colleges and campus offices to promote and advance the Honors College by developing initiatives and coordinating programs intended to support efforts to increase student retention and connect students to learning opportunities beyond the classroom.  Her work also includes coordination and participation in recruitment and orientation events for incoming students and their families. As the assessment coordinator for the college, she uses institutional data to perform ongoing assessments of student success programming effectiveness.  Additionally, she manages the advising services to Honors students and works collaboratively with the Capstone coordinators, faculty, and two other Honors advisors in addressing student needs as they pertain to advising and support. Directing UW’s Summer High School Institute, a wonderful pre-college summer program, is also part of her responsibilities. Li strives to empower all students to meet their personal and educational goals and to promote inclusion around campus.

 

Outside of her work, Li finds fulfillment in a myriad of interests. From culinary adventures to literary escapades, from traversing nature trails to exploring distant lands, she savors every moment of leisure. Most importantly, she treasures quality time with her daughter and husband, who shares her passion for education and also works at UW.
