Honors SOAR Advanced Badge

The Honors SOAR Advanced Badge includes requirements in the following areas: Global and Cultural Perspectives, Arts and Humanities Integration, Social Justice Engagement, STEM Investigation, Leadership and Teamwork Readiness, and the Advanced Capstone Training Module. Please see the descriptions of each required component below. These requirements are completed using the Suitable application.


1. Building Honors Community (20 points)

As an honors student, you have the opportunity to engage in and build up the Honors College community.

Engagement in a minimum of 2 opportunities is required. Event must be designated as a "Building Honors Community" opportunity to fulfill this requirements. In the Suitable app, 30 points total will be displayed as being required, which includes 10 points earned from the First-Year Badge. 

*2 separate events required (10 pts each)

2. Global Cultural Perspectives (30 points)

Gain a global perspective by pursuing study abroad, attending multicultural events, and more. 

*3 separate events required (10 pts each) or 1 study abroad experience (30 points)

3. Arts and Humanities Integration (30 points)

Learn to view the world through a more creative and humanistic lens when you visit museums and arts events, attend humanities lectures, supplement your own research or creative activity, and more.

*3 separate events required (10 pts each) 

 

4. STEM Investigation (30 points)

Sharpen your worldview by enhancing your STEM literacy, as it relates to creating critical thinkers, and enabling the next generation of innovators who approach the challenges of the future from a multidisciplinary perspective.  

*3 separate events required (10 pts each)

5. Social Justice Engagement (20 points)

Engage with the complex social phenomena that is racial injustice, gender and identity equality, health care and economic disparity, and everything in between, in the pursuit of skills and abilities to be agents for positive change and solutions.

*2 separate events required (10 pts each) 

6. Leadership and Teamwork Readiness (20 points)

Enhance your growth as a future collaborator and leader as you take on training, roles, and responsibilities.  Explore activities like attending seminars, working as vital part of a team, being elected as a student representative, serving as an officer in a campus organization, becoming an RA, and more. 

*2 separate events required (10 pts each) 

 

7. Completion of the Advanced Capstone Training Module (150 points)

Honors students will successfully complete the various levels of the Honors Capstone Module via WyoGroups.
