Covid-19 Employee Resources

Providing a healthy and safe campus environment is the top priority for the University of Wyoming, particularly during the continued COVID-19 pandemic. We are limiting access to the Human Resources and Payroll offices, and ask that you please call HR at 766-2377, or Payroll at 766-2217 for assistance.

HR Guidance for Remote Work

As stated in the Plan to Restart Campus and Restore Normal Operations, dated 9 June 2020, all endeavors must be considered to protect the health and safety of each UW community including staff, faculty, students and citizens of the regions where UW teaches, learns and works. Staffing plans shall be implemented with the goal of trying to reduce the density in the workplace, minimize exposure, and meet the needs of faculty and staff who have, or live with someone who has, a condition that places them in a high-risk category, to the extent possible. Reporting Covid-19 Concerning Employee Behavior

Compliance with various COVID requirements is critical to the University community and will help to support UW’s goal to restart the campus for teaching, learning, and working. Non-compliance with these requirements compromises that goal and increases chance of disease transmission. Incidents of noncompliance for employees will be managed through the employee handbook and “corrective action” policies and procedures. Violations of the COVID Policy could result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, and or dismissal from the University. 

While on University-owned property or when conducting University business or activities, including instruction and research, our community must observe these requirements to minimize the spread of the disease. It is a shared responsibility.  Everyone must do their part. UW cannot guarantee a COVID free environment. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID exists in any place where people are present. In coming onto University property and participating in University business or activities, including instruction and research, faculty, staff, students and visitors understand and acknowledge that there are risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Faculty, staff, students, and other community members who want to report concerning behavior about an employee should complete and submit the online form provided below.  Your submission will be reviewed by Human Resources to determine what, if any, action(s) should be taken.

Mental Health Resources

Mental health resources available for employees and students who are experiencing a crisis

The University of Wyoming offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides benefited employees and their household members with professional counseling, as well as legal and financial assistance. UW partners with MINES and Associates of Littleton, Colo., to provide services at no cost to UW employees. Access any of the services by visiting the MINES and Associates website or by calling 1-800-873-7138.  

Your medical insurance provider Cigna also has many resources for emotional and physical health you can use. Go to mycigna.com for details. There are wellness topics on sleep, stress, heart health, diabetes, emotional health, smoking cessation, and respiratory health.  Your Cigna insurance also has a basic level of additional EAP resources for you to use. Emotional Health and Family Support. Learn how to manage stress, address depression and anxiety, cope with illness, and adjust to life challenges. Also, get help with marriage and relationship issues. 

The Wyoming on Wellness website (part of CIGNA) has a variety of behavioral and physical wellness resources and incentives you can utilize.  Prevail is an on-demand coaching and mental health coaching program, Happify is a set of activities and games that can help with emotional, well-being and how you see the world. 

Wyoming Health Fairs has a variety of services such as Health Coaching, Wellness Challenges, Biometric Screenings, and low cost screenings. Some of their services are free and others do have a fee. 

LinkedIn learning has trainings that can help managers with a wide variety of supervisory techniques.
