Insurance Open Enrollment

It is open enrollment time again for insurance benefits for the 2018 calendar/benefits year.

Regretfully, health and dental rates will increase in 2018.  Please read the Benefit Press for important information and updates. Employees’ Group Insurance will hold informational meetings in Laramie on Wednesday, October 25th at 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. in the Union Family Room #212.

Below are just some of the issues you might want to consider for 2018.  You might want to contribute to a flexible benefits account (medical or dependent care reimbursement), change your insurance deductible, add dependents, or make other changes to your coverage. All applications and forms must be submitted to the Human Resources Office no later than Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Flexible Benefits Plan

Do you currently have the pre-tax option for your insurance premiums?  If so, you DON’T need to renew this option.  It is carried forward from year to year.

Do you want to contribute to a medical or dependent care reimbursement account in 2018?  The contributions do NOT carry forward from year to year and MUST be renewed every year.  Please note that the medical reimbursement account annual contribution limit is increasing to $2,600.  To read more about these options, please read the Flexible Benefits Plan Booklet.  If you want to check your 2017 contribution to these accounts, you can go to Self Service on WyoWeb (the same place you go to view your monthly paycheck) and click on Payroll and Compensation-Voluntary Deductions.  If you decide to enroll for 2018, complete the 2018 Flexible Benefits Enrollment Form.  Your Employee ID# can be found on Self Service.

Add Yourself and/or Dependents to Insurance

Do you want to add yourself, your spouse, and/or children to the health and dental coverage?  If so, please complete the Employees’ Group Insurance Benefit Application.  Be sure to check the Open Enrollment box at the top and provide copies of supporting documentation (marriage or birth certificates) to prove your dependents’ eligibility.  To learn the new insurance premium you will pay, check the Medical and Dental Rates for 2018.

Change Deductible

Do you want to change your insurance deductible for 2018?  If you want to check your current deductible, you can go to Self Service on WyoWeb and click on Benefits-Benefits Summary.  To learn the premiums for the different deductible plans, check the Medical and Dental Rates for 2018.   If you decide to change your deductible, complete the Employees’ Group Insurance Benefit Application.  Be sure to check the Change Deductible box at the top. If you and your spouse have split coverage, both of you will need to complete this form if you change your deductible.

Add Optional Dental Coverage

Optional Dental insurance covers restorative or corrective dental work.  To check whether you currently have Optional Dental, you may go to Self Service on WyoWeb and click on Benefits-Benefits Summary.  If it has been at least 3 years since you waived or dropped it, you may enroll by completing the Employees’ Group Insurance Benefit Application.

Add or Change Vision Coverage

You may enroll in Vision coverage or add dependents if it has been at least 2 years since you waived it (or made changes) by completing a Voluntary Benefit Application.  Go to Self Service on WyoWeb to confirm whether you currently have the Vision coverage.

Benefit Fair

All employees are invited to the Benefit Fair on Wednesday, November 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Union Ballroom.  You will have an opportunity to ask benefit questions, submit enrollment and flexible benefits forms for 2018, and visit with retirement and insurance vendors.
