Exiting the University of Wyoming

Employees: To leave the University you must provide a written resignation with a set last date of employment. Please also try to give your supervisor at least two weeks notice so we can prepare to refill your position. For more instructions follow our Termination Checklist.

Supervisors: Please term your employees in HCM attaching their Terminal Leave Option Form (found in the Termination Checklist) and the resignation letter the employee has to send you.

Retirement steps can be found on our HR Leaving Employment Benefits Page. Please be aware that, while not required, it is highly recommended you schedule a meeting with Cherise Laud to best determine retirement goals and plan.
Classified staff who were terminated for cause have the option to appeal their termination. If you wish to do so please contact Employee Relations

After termination, your benefits will continue through the last month that you worked at the University. If you wish to continue benefits with the University please contact the Benefits Office to discuss your options.
