HELP (Human Resources Employment Law and Policies) is a certificate program for supervisors and managers that offers information regarding policies and procedures needed to maintain compliance at the University of Wyoming.
The HELP program consists of 3 parts:
- Online HELP Instructional Module
- In-Person Sessions with Specialists regarding HR Topics
- Online Trainings
HELP Online will provide a foundation of information about the necessary rules and regulations for those in a managerial or supervisory position. The online portion may be completed in multiple sittings. It consists of information about hiring procedures, orienting new employees, performance evaluations, classification/compensation and reorganization, ADA, donated sick leave and more. After it is completed, it will remain accessible and may be used as a reference and guide for those in the HELP program.
The second part of the HELP program consists of two in-person conversation, question and answer sessions with the topic specialists. These sessions will be held once a week for two weeks and will last roughly four hours. These sessions are for HELP participants to reflect and ask questions about the information they received from the HELP online instructional module. Topic specialists will discuss real world examples and offer advice on any concerns relating to the participants work related issues.
The final part of the HELP program is a series of instructional courses for managers. Participants will need to take 5 courses: Harassment and Discrimination through the Office of Diversity and Employment Practices, the OFCCP Training (if they haven't not already taken it) and three additional managerial and supervisory courses from which the participant may choose.
This program is only open to supervisors and costs $55. The next session is:
