ASSISTANT PROFESOR OF THEATRE AND DANCE - #1747

The University of Wyoming is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Dramatic Literature/Criticism and Theatre History to begin August, 2015. PhD or equivalent degree required. University teaching experience preferred. Professional dramaturgy, directing or acting experience, and/or the demonstrated ability to teach in a secondary area or administrative experience preferred. Primary responsibilities: teach a two-semester sequence in Dramatic Literature, a two-semester sequence in Theatre History, and teach one course in an additional area of expertise (play analysis, non-western or multi-cultural theatre, performance theory/studies, directing, acting, etc.). Direct one production each season. Participation in student advisement and mentoring, departmental, college and university service, out of town recruitment and outreach is expected. Salary is extremely competitive and contingent upon qualifications. The University of Wyoming, located 126 miles north of Denver, CO, in Laramie, WY, is in the process of a $32.4 million renovation and expansion of theatre and dance spaces in the new Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts.
