This facility is equipped with a 200 kV FEI Tecnai G2 F20 (S)TEM with an Oxford Inca X-Stream EDX Spectrometer. A single tilt and a low background double tilt holder are available for imaging of different surfaces. The lab also has a Fischione 1020 Plasma Cleaner for removing contaminants from samples. The following imaging and analytical techniques are available in our facility.

CTEM Conventional TEM (CTEM) imaging for high contrast particle size and structural analysis.

  CTEM

HRTEM High Resolution TEM (HRTEM) imaging capable of showing sub-nanometer lattice fringes.

  HRTEM

HAADF-STEM High-angle annular dark-field scanning TEM (HAADF-STEM) provides z-contrast imaging.
