This facility is equipped with
a 200 kV FEI Tecnai G2 F20 (S)TEM with an Oxford Inca X-Stream
EDX Spectrometer. A single tilt and a low background double tilt holder
are available for imaging of different surfaces. The lab also has a Fischione
1020 Plasma Cleaner for removing contaminants from samples. The following imaging
and analytical techniques are available in our facility. |
| |
CTEM |
Conventional TEM (CTEM) imaging for
high contrast particle size and structural analysis. |
| |
| |

HRTEM |
High Resolution TEM (HRTEM) imaging capable of
showing sub-nanometer lattice fringes. |

HAADF-STEM |
High-angle annular dark-field scanning TEM (HAADF-STEM)
provides z-contrast imaging. |
