March 10 (Monday), 5 to 6:30 p.m. in HS 105, American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine Lisa Miller, AUC, will present concerning admissions and the education process at this off shore medical school. Students are advised to research off-shore schools careful and fully understand the costs and risks associated with attending one.
March 11 (Thursday), 5 to 6:30 p.m. in HS 427, Writing Your Personal Essay For students applying summer of 2014 for admission in the 2015 academic year in any field. Join Marivern Easton, Director of Health Professions Recruiting, as she gives practical advice and tips on Writing your personal essay. Be prepared to read and critically evaluate sample essays.
March 17 (Monday), 5 to 6:30 p.m. in HS 105, Univ. of Washington Physician Assistant Program (MEDEX) The Univ. of Washington's Physician Assistant Program will be discussing preparing for and applying to Physician Assistant programs, and specifically their program. Please note -- this is the week of Spring Break!
April 4 (Friday), 3 to 4 p.m. in CR 141, AMCAS/AACOMAS (the medical school applications). For students applying summer of 2014 for admission to medical school in the 2015 academic year. We will walk you step by step through the application, and review letters of evaluation, transcript submission, grade entering, and give other practical advice.
April 8th (Tuesday) 5 to 6:30 p.m. in TBD, Univ. of Nebraska School of Dentistry. Dr. "Dub" Vogt of the Univ. of Nebraska School of Dentistry will disucss preparing for and applying to dental school in general and the Univ. of Nebraska in specific. Note for WY residents -- Nebraska is one of the two WYDENT schools with seats reserved for WY resident.
April 9th (Wednesday) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in HS 116, Univ. of Nebraska School of Dentistry -- individual appointments. Dr. "Dub" Vogt of the Univ. of Nebraska School of Dentistry will be holding 1/2 hour appointments with students interesting in dental school. These appointments are for ALL students -- from those just exploring the concept to those who have already applied (or were unsuccessful in this year's application). Even if you don't qualify for WYDENT Dr. Vogt is still a valuable resource to help you navigate the process of preparing for and applying to dental school. Announcement about signing up will come out on the pre-prof listserve about a week before the 9th.
