All workshops are 5-6:30 PM in HS 427 unless otherwise noted. Also, we realize that many of you will have other obligations that may conflict with a workshop dates and/or times. January 23 (Wednesday), Interviewing. Jo Chytka, Director of the Center for Advising and Career Services, will again give her hands-on and very practical session on interviewing. Jo also does mock interviews, so she's a good person to meet and know.
January 29 (Tuesday), How Telemedicine Helps Health Care by Dr. Rex Gantenbien, Director of the Center for Rural Health Research and Education. Discover how medicine of the future (and now) will use technology. See a demonstration of the latest technology in telemedicine. Fascinating stuff! NOTE: HS 105.
February 21 (Thursday), Financing Your Professional education. Worried about paying for all this? You should be! Come learn from Craig Vaske what to expect and how you might take steps now to make the future finances easier.
March 14 (Thursday), Writing Your Personal Essay. For students applying summer of 2013 for admission in the 2014 academic year in any field. Join Marivern Easton, Director of Health Professions Recruiting, as she gives practical advice and tips on Writing your personal essay. Be prepared to read and critically evaluate sample essays.
April 8 (Monday), AMCAS/AACOMAS (the medical school applications). For students applying summer of 2013 for admission to medical school in the 2014 academic year. We will walk you step by step through the application, and review letters of evaluation, transcript submission, grade entering, and give other practical advice.
April 22 (Monday), AADSAS (the dental school application). For students applying summer of 2013 for admission to dental school in the 2014 academic year. We will walk you step by step through the application, and review letters of evaluation, transcript submission, grade entering, and give other practical advice.
WWAMI Night (date and time to be announced). Come learn about the WWAMI medical contract program form current students, WWAMI physicians, and administrators. Wyoming residents only (or residents of other WWAMI states).
