Giving Voice: Towns Under 1,000

In June the Wyoming Humanities Council and our program partners welcomed poet and educator Naomi Shihab Nye back to Wyoming for Giving Voice: Towns Under 1,000. Nye toured towns with populations of less than 1,000 giving poetry readings and writing workshops that placed emphasis on the importance of the written word when it comes to expressing individual and community voices. Known for her warmth and charisma, Nye is an internationally recognized writer who has traveled widely, using her experiences to find our shared humanity across continents and cultures.
