What's News? Wyoming Connects
Join us or a current events discussion via videoconferencing in Afton, Baggs, Casper, Cheyenne, Evanston, Gillette, Greybull, Lander, Laramie, Lusk, and Meeteetse. All sessions are from 7-9 p.m. and include refreshments. The program is sponsored by a grant from the UW Outreach School. See schedule for October 30, November 6 or November 13. October 30 Nimi McConigley graduated from the Columbia University School of Journalism and was news director at KGWC-TV in Casper. Her experience in news reporting began in New Delhi at All India Radio and Akashvani network. She served in the Wyoming State Legislature from 1994-96. Chuck Denny has a master's degree in English from Western Washington University and runs the writing center at Gillette College. He teaches English composition, Western American literature and Native American literature.
November 6 Jordan Dresser has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wyoming. He works for the Wind River Tribal College and the marketing department of the Wind River Casino. He has been a reporter for the Denver Post, Salt Lake Tribune, Lincoln Journal Star, Fargo Forum and Reznet News. Gracie Lawson-Borders is an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wyoming and a faculty member in communication and journalism. She has been a reporter and editor at the Akron Beacon-Journal, the Oakland Press and the Chicago Tribune.
November 13 Renny MacKay has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He works as a reporter for Wyoming Public Radio, and he was previously a reporter for Missourinet News. Katie Beppler has a master's degree in French from the University of Wyoming and recently retired from teaching French at Evanston High School. She teaches part-time for Western Wyoming College.
