Dial-Up Modem Connections

Connecting to the UWYO-PPP Remote Access Server

The University of Wyoming (UW) provides students, staff, and faculty with off-campus dial-up Internet access at no cost. This access requires that you have a functioning dial-up modem, a phone connection, and a valid UWYO domain account.

For computers that are not UW-owned, Information Technology supports only the UW-specific setup and configuration of the software as presented in the Ask IT dial-up connection configuration How To documents which provide instructions for configuring your system to dial into the university remote access server via modem.

UW Modem Time Limits

Modem Pool	Connection Time Limit
Faculty/Staff	3 hours
Student	2 hours

Users exceeding these time limits will be automatically disconnected from the modem pool.
