Licensed through Information Technology
Information Technology provides ESRI’s ArcGIS software for all current UW faculty, staff and students. This software can be used to create and analyze geographic maps for a variety of applications and disciplines. This product is available for UW owned computers and personal computers through a student version. To submit a request, please fill out the IT Software Request form and an IT software staff member will email you installation instructions.

For UW own computers, the software can only be used while the computer is connected to the UW network. If you wish to use the software off campus or in the field, then you will need borrow a license. Please visit How to Borrow a License in ArcGIS for instructions on how to do this.
Information Technology has ENVI free of charge for any UW faculty, staff, or graduate student that is installing the software on an UW owned computer. ENVI can be used alongside ArcGIS for image processing and remote sensing applications. A request for the software must be submitted through the IT Software Request form. Once the form is received an IT software staff member will email you installation instructions.
ENVI software can be run off campus with connection through the VPN.
