Terms and Conditions
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY: Students are not authorized to accept collect calls or place 900 calls which would be billed back to their on-campus telephone extension. You are financially responsible for all phone calls made against your authorization number or from your telephone number. UW Long Distance Cards are the property of the University of Wyoming and must be surrendered upon request. In the case of loss or theft, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES INCURRED UNTIL THE TIME YOU REPORT, IN WRITING, THE LOSS OR THEFT OF YOUR CALLING CARD TO THE IT TELECOM HELP DESK, ROOM 326, ITC, 766-4357, option 2. Replacement cards will be issued without cost. Students must notify Information Technology to have any services discontinued and be released from future financial liability.
BILLING: You will be billed monthly for your long-distance calls and any other optional services desired. The bill will be delivered to your on campus address unless you have provided another billing address. Bills may be sent to parents/guardians, but the student is still held responsible for payment. Payment must be made within 10 days to the UW Cashier’s Office or service may be discontinued. Disputes with billing must be reported to the IT Telecom Help Desk, room 326, ITC, 766-4357, option 2, within 30 days of receipt of bill.
Your initial credit limit is $100. When your account exceeds the $100 limit, a bill will be sent immediately to your on-campus address. Long-distance service may be discontinued until the entire balance is paid. If payment is not received within 5 days of discontinuance an additional $10.00 will be charged to reinstate your long-distance service.
CREDITS & INTERNATIONAL CALLS: Credit against your charges is not given for calls disconnected in progress, misdialed calls, or poor connections. Long-distance service is limited to the United States and Canada unless requested otherwise. In many international countries, calls may be billed in an "All-Circuits-Busy” condition. When this occurs the student will be billed for the call. CREDIT AGAINST YOUR CHARGES IS GENERALLY NOT GIVEN FOR INTERNATIONAL CALLS.
UNPAID BILLS: Unpaid telephone bills are subject to University student account policies which include, but are not limited to: the withholding of housing deposits, transcripts, and diplomas. Failure to pay your bill may result in assessment of collection costs, including collection agency costs, court costs and attorney fees. Returned checks will result in a fine according to University policy. Fraudulent use, misuse or theft of UW telephone services and calling cards is considered a theft of service under Wyoming State Law and is a punishable offense.
