World Comes to Wyoming Fund

Request for Proposals

The World Comes to Wyoming Fund (Fund), established in 2009, provides grants of up to $2,400 a year to stimulate global engagement throughout the State of Wyoming via the support and vision of the University of Wyoming.

The Fund was founded to further UW's international impact on Wyoming, knowing that a greater influx and exchange of global expertise and thinking would benefit Wyoming, just as Wyoming's unique culture, ideas, and problem-solving style would benefit international stakeholders.

Grants will be awarded by a four-person Fund Committee that includes Dr. Anne Alexander, director of UW International Programs and three members of her advisory board, including Fund sponsor/donor Cathy Healy, David Bostrom and Ann Tollefson.

Deadline for applications for 2009-2010 year is 5 pm,  Monday, October 19, 2009. The decision will be delivered in a timely manner.

 Qualifications of Grant Candidates

 1.  The Fund will offer financial assistance to a pre-existing project, enterprise, or initiative sponsored by individuals, organizations, institutions, or government entities of Wyoming that will benefit from a personal exchange of multinational, multicultural ideas and thinking.

2.   The benefits must be measurable in terms of actions taken as a result of the visit(s) to continue the benefits of the exchange.

3.   The project must involve the University of Wyoming and provide at least a tangential benefit to the University.

4.   The project must extend personal interactions beyond the Laramie campus.

Special consideration will be given to applications that contain a self-sustaining component, that promote partnerships with other community groups, and that take advantage of technology to ensure ongoing interaction.
