 Faculty Travel Guidance
- The UW Study Abroad and Exchange Protocols and Policies are designed to provide a process to balance safety and security concerns with travellers' needs. Faculty-led UW programs in particular are addressed in these policies, as are all individual exchange and study abroad programs for students.
- The Emergency Communications Protocol should be used when issues arise when you are working abroad.
- When travelling, UW faculty and staff can have the cost of the workers' comp insurance continued by UW by simply filling out this notification form: http://www.uwyo.edu/safety/ForeignTravelNotification.aspx (For more information, please go to UW's Risk Management site.)
- Insurance covering repatriation and evacuation, among other emergencies that might occur, is available through UW for a very low cost ($22) for the International Teachers' Insurance Card. Contact Ms. Patti Flores for details, or stop by IPO's office
- Per-diem for UW international travel - UW's travel policy allows faculty, staff, and administrators to use the US State Department per diem for that country for purposes of accounting. For more information on UW's new travel policy, go to Accounts Payable and follow the Quick Link "New Travel Information and Forms" (note - you need to create an Accounts Payable channel on WyoWeb to obtain the forms - there are instructions on the website)
- Countries with Travel Warnings posted - UW strongly advises no travel to these countries because they have a draw-down of US Embassy and Consular personnel. Coming soon - UW foreign travel policy.
