Once AcceptedPreparing for DepartureBefore you depart you should: 1) Familiarize your self with health and safety information. Visit Students Abroad. 2) Visit the Center for Disease Control to see what vaccinations you will need. 3) Get your VISA. 4) Research your country of study and familiarize yourself with both current events in the United States and in your destination country. 5) Make photocopies of your passport. Always have a copy of your ID with you while abroad, but keep your passport somewhere safe. 6) Purchase International Student Insurance in room 103 of the Cheney International Center or online at STA Travel. 7) Do you know the electrical conversions for your country of study? Visit Magellans for more info. 8) A mandatory pre-departure orientation will take place at the end of the semester before your departure. 9) Consider taking the INST 2200 Study Abroad Preparation Course.
