Admission Requirements for Master's Program in International Studies

Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for GRE and TOEFL as listed on the Graduate School application web page. Proficiency in a foreign language is expected, although not a condition of admission. (See curriculum guidelines.) Applications must be completed and submitted by February 1 and students can only be admitted for fall semester. Please provide directly to the International Studies Program a personal statement that includes: description of second language proficiency; experience abroad or with international communities; career intentions.

  1. If you are interested in the traditional Master's Program in International Studies, no additional application materials are required.
  2. If you are interested in the joint degree in Environment and Natural Resources (ENR), please indicate "ENR" on the application form in the Concentration field. There are no additional admission requirements. Graduate studies in ENR are always completed in conjunction with a primary degree program.
  3. If you are interested in the Master's International-Peace Corps (PC-MI) degree, please indicate "PC-MI" on the application form in the Concentration field. Applicants to the MIPC program must apply to the Peace Corps separately and simultaneously.
  4. If you are interested in the Master's International-Peace Corps/Environment and Natural Resources degree please indicate PC-MI/ENR on the application form in the Concentration field and follow the additional steps for admission indicated for the PC-MI degree.
