Visiting Senior Scholar

During 2004, Dr. Garrison received a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellowship and served in the Office of Chinese and Mongolian Affairs with the U.S. State Department's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. In 2007-08 she spent a sabbatical leave, in part, as a visiting fellow at the Mansfield Foundation in Washington, D.C. doing research on China's quest for energy security in Asia. Her future work will focus more specifically on climate change as an energy security issue. Marc Wall is the new Senior Visiting Scholar in Global Studies for the 2013-14 academic year.  A former ambassador, Marc Wall brings to the classroom policy expertise and diplomatic experience gained in a career spanning almost four decades as a United States Foreign Service Officer.  Most recently advisor to the United States Pacific Command in Hawaii, he has served as U.S. Ambassador to Chad, coordinated reconstruction programs in Iraq, and managed trade initiatives with Japan, China, and Taiwan.  In Washington he has been a member of the Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Council and held various positions shaping U.S. policy towards Asia, Africa, and international economic organizations.  An accomplished diplomat and policy professional, he has also taught at Georgetown University, the National Defense University, the City College of New York, and George Washington University’s Program for International Studies in Asia.
