Jayne Jenkins, Ph.D.

Professor
Physical Education Teacher Education

BACKGROUND

Wyoming has been home (primarily) since 1977 when I moved in Sheridan, Wyoming to teach elementary physical and health education. This followed a six year stint of teaching junior high girls physical and health education in Jackson, Minnesota. The move constituted the change from being a Minnesota Golden Gopher to a Wyoming Cowboy/Cowgirl. Physical Education has been my career for 40 years and I still find it as exciting as ever. I have taught kindergartners through university graduate level students and love teaching at all levels. After attaining the M.S. degree at the University of Wyoming I went on to attain the Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. My husband, Bill Gorman, and I returned to the Cowboy State in 1999 where I have been employed as a Professor, and Bill runs an engineering firm. We enjoy bicycling, skiing, and attending as many University of Wyoming athletic and cultural events as possible.
