Course Overview: Introduction to Law is a one-credit-hour course graded on a S/U basis. The class will meet twice a week for half of the semester. This class has two main goals: (1) to introduce you to the legal system and the general nature of legal authority and legal analysis; and (2) to introduce you to the study of law and the general nature of law school classes and exams. This course is designed to help you get the most out of your other law school classes and to help you learn how to prepare for and take law school essay exams.

Course Format: Lecture and discussion based on assigned readings.
Written Assignments:
Type of Exam: Final in-class or take home.
Basis for Grading Student Performance: S/U - based primarily on exam but poor participation or attendance could in theory result in a grade of “U”.
