Course Overview: (Meets 8/21 - 10/4/2012) The course provides a general introduction to the law. The aim of the course is to assist first year students in developing a fundamental understanding of the procedures and structure of the legal system that will assist them in studying their foundational first year courses. An introduction to approaches for efficient and effective law school study will also be provided.

Course Format: Lecture and discussion based on assigned readings.

Type of Exam: Final in-class or take home.
Basis for Grading Student Performance: S/U - based primarily on exam but poor participation or attendance could in theory result in a grade of “U”.
