At the University of Wyoming, we highly value hands-on experiential learning. In addition to your courses, you're invited to engage in credit-earning opportunities outside of the classroom. The credits offered varies with each opportunity, so please read the information available on each page carefully.
Three types of practicums are available, designed to provide hands-on and real-life experience with handling cases surrounding a topic. Topics include estate planning, international human rights and natural resources.
Four types of clinics are available, each designed to provide an in-depth learning experience surrounding a topic. Topics include Defender Aid, Prosecution Assistance, Legal Services and Domestic Violence.
Summer Trial Institute provides students with an rigorous training experience in the courtroom, while interacting and gaining feedback from faculty and experienced practitioners.
Legal externships allow students to select a firm, organization, or agency of their choice to gain experience practicing law in a work setting.
