Despite its small size, the University of Wyoming College of Law offers a wealth of opportunities to learn and prepare to become a lawyer. Through traditional doctrinal classes, innovative upper division electives and a significant number of skills courses, the College of Law provides many avenues for students to develop into attorneys ready to practice.
To help you navigate through the many offerings and determine the courses that are best for you, the College of Law faculty have developed the following Pathways to the Profession of LawTM to assist you. Pathways to the Profession of LawTM is a graphical, on-line, advising program developed at the William and Mitchell College of Law and adapted with permission for use at the University of Wyoming. Whether you are interested in energy and the environment, criminal law, business, real estate, international law or want to work for social justice, in the public interest, for the government or be a general practitioner or civil litigator, these pathways will help you select classes that will assist you in finding your way. If you aren't sure what you'd like, the Pathways can help you develop ideas. If you are interested in more than one area, the Pathways can help you chart the best course to develop all of your interests. While the Pathways are not exhaustive of the possible routes one might take, and while there is no single path that is best for every student, it is our hope that at a minimum the Pathways will serve as a helpful tool for you to get the most out of your time at the College of Law.
