In 2009, Professor Dennis Stickley was appointed as a visiting professor at the University of Wyoming, College of Law. A Laramie native who received both his J.D. and M.S. (in resource economics) from UW, Professor Stickley spent the last 20 years as a seminar director for the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy at the University of Dundee in Scotland, one of the world's leading institutes for oil and gas law and economics. His experiences there and throughout his 33 years of practice have led him to be listed in the Guide to the World's Leading Energy and Natural Resources Lawyers. In 2010, Professor Stickley was appointed to the World Bank's Panel of Technical Experts for Extractive Industries, as an expert adviser on petroleum law and policy.
Professor Stickley hopes to foster collaboration between the various energy, environment and natural resources programs across campus.
