A native of Sheridan, Wy., Mikole has strong roots in the state. She attended the University of Wyoming for both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. She holds a double bachelor's degree in History and Political Science, and a Master's degree in History where she focused work on comparative studies between the United States and Germany. Additionally, she speaks German.
She was drawn to the idea of a legal career in order to proliferate the Wyoming values and ideal that she holds dear. "Wyoming is my community and I want to do everything that I can to help improve it and provide services for its residents," she says.
Advocating for those without a voice also had a special pull for Mikole. She hopes to specialize in Special Education Law and help parents and children who are in special education programs in Wyoming.
While in law school, Mikole has served as President for Wyoming Law Students for Equal Justice, she has been a staff member for the Wyoming Law Review and is currently serving as a Student Editor on the Editorial Board. She has also been active in the student competitions, competing in both the ABA Negotiations competition as well as the Richard E. Day Client Counseling Competition. She was also a finalist for the prestigious Clarence A. Brimmer Scholarship.
As the Student Director for Civil Legal Services, Mikole feels like she is making a lasting impact on those that seek the aid of the Clinic.
"The Clinic is one of the best experiences that a student can receive," she states. "Not only do the clients teach students skills they can take into their future careers, the Clinic is providing a great need to its clients."
