Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic

Student Clinic Director: Jeanne Core

Originally from Rexburg, Idaho, Jeanne attended Brigham Young University – Idaho and graduated with a degree in sociology in 2005. Additionally, she holds two Associates degrees from Ricks College in Paramedicine and Accounting.

Prior to attending law school she worked as the Executive Director of the Crisis Prevention and Response Center in Worland, Wyo. for five years. That experience inspired her to attend law school, knowing that to accomplish more in advocating for the victims she was encountering, she needed a law degree to fight on the legal level.

While in law school, Jeanne has been on a very direct path to accomplishing her goals. She is pursuing a joint degree with the Master of Public Administration program, and has been active in the Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic since she was able to serve as the 2L intern. She has also worked as a legal intern in the Albany County Attorney's Office, serves as treasurer for Wyoming Law Students for Equal Justice, is a member of the Women's Law Forum,  and serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Albany County Safe Project.

She hopes that her experience gained at the helm of the clinic will allow her to combat the impacts of trauma for victims of domestic violence, as well as the barriers that they face in the justice system.
