Prosecution Assistance Clinic

Student Clinic Director: Maridi Choma

I am a Wyoming gal through and through. As a fourth-generation UW grad, I think at this point I might bleed brown and gold! I was born and raised in Casper, and I completed my bachelor’s degree in international studies and French right here at UW. I spent a couple years after I finished my undergrad degree in Washington, D.C., where I worked for Senator John Barrasso.

Law was always in the back of my mind during high school and college. My time working at the US Senate really solidified my choice to attend law school. I was surrounded by phenomenal attorneys, and seeing the good they were able to accomplish in the world resonated with me. I chose to come back to Wyoming for law school because I wanted to attend a high-quality program with a sense of community. The fresh air and open spaces were a welcome bonus though!

I chose the Prosecution Assistance Program because I have a passion for criminal law. I am a firm believer that the best way to learn new things is to do them. The legal clinics at UW offer students an invaluable opportunity to get hands-on education from practicing attorneys. I want to pursue criminal prosecution after graduation, so I jumped at the chance to work with prosecuting attorneys around the state. I believe that prosecutors have a unique and critical role in the criminal justice system, and I am grateful for this opportunity to give back to my home state through service.
