Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Practicum

Faculty Supervisor: Sharon Buccino

sbuccino@uwyo.edu

Through the Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources Law Practicum, the College of Law provides third-year law students with classroom instruction, simulated experiential learning exercises, and hypothetical projects to prepare them to practice law in the public or private sector in the areas of energy, environmental, and natural resources law.

Students work on projects at the cutting edge of energy diversification and natural resources law. They have the opportunity to network with lawyers practicing in this growing and evolving field.

How the EENR Practicum (classroom and work environment) contributes to practice-ready experience

  • Encourages the transition from an academic performance mentality (where a high letter grade provides an incentive to perform quality work) to a professional practice mentality.

  • Supports the development of professional responsibility, professional accountability, and self-reliance.

  • Provides opportunities to develop self-directed learning skills, problem solving skills, time management skills and other professional skills relevant to the practice of law.

* All clinics and practicums are subject to change in terms of content, caseload, and specific course focus in any given year.
