International Human Rights Practicumhuman rights practicum participant

The International Human Rights Practicum is the only experiential learning program focused on international human rights promotion in the Mountain West. The Practicum is structured as a course that combines lawyering skills, international legal research, and supervised human rights and asylum case work. Students apply what they learn in the classroom to pressing legal issues in the best interests of real clients.

Students in the Practicum have worked in 13 countries, including Cambodia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Peru and have provided direct representation to over a dozen clients in asylum cases.  The practicum is administered out of the College of Law's Center for International Human Rights Law and Advocacy.
