In fall of 2015, Professor Michael Duff was nominated to become a fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers (CWCL). Professor Duff’s nomination was recently confirmed and he joined an elite group of workers’ compensation lawyers in the nation as a CWCL Fellow.

Professor Duff is the first and only Fellow to be selected from the state of Wyoming. His name can be found listed among the other distinguished recipients on the CWCL’s Directory of Fellows.

The CWCL was established to honor those attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice in the field of workers’ compensation. Individuals are nominated for the outstanding traits they have developed in their practice of twenty years, or longer, representing plaintiffs, defendants, serving as judges, or acting for the benefit of all in education, overseeing agencies and developing legislation.

By accepting the Fellowship in the College, recipients commit themselves to a life-long dedication to the maintenance of the highest standards of professional conduct, and scholarly pursuits.

Duff was honored as a Class of 2016 inductee into the College in the Tenth Annual Induction Ceremony in March, 2016.

“It is truly a privilege to be included in such a prestigious workers’ compensation honor society,” he says. “Many of the august experts in this group served as role models for me as I was coming up through the ranks. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Professor Duff is currently serving as an Associate Dean for the College of Law and is the Centennial Distinguished Professor of Law. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Duff has authored a textbook on workers’ compensation law and has lectured widely on the subject. His coursework at the law school includes Torts I, Labor Law, and Workers’ Compensation Law. He is also a recognized scholar of labor relations law.

The University of Wyoming College of Law’s faculty boasts expertise in nearly every area of the law. Their dedication to scholarship is matched by their commitment to teaching. The College of Law is extremely proud to have recognized leaders such as Professor Duff on the faculty.
