College of Law Breaks Ground on Renovation and Expansion

Behind the shovels were WY State Representative Bob Nicholas, UW President Ed Seidel, UW Board of Trustees Chairman John McKinley, US Senator Al Simpson, Justice Marilyn Kite, Top Visionary Paul Hickey, Tayla Davis of the McMurry Foundation, and College of Law Dean Klint Alexander.

The University of Wyoming College of Law officially broke ground today for The Alan K. Simpson Center for Clinical and Experiential Learning, with Al and Ann Simpson, Senator John Barrasso, and other friends and supporters joining the celebration.

The historic moment was made possible by the Wyoming legislature’s and the university’s support for and approval of the renovation and expansion of the College of Law.

The 19,300-square-foot, two-story addition will wrap around the northwest end of the existing building, and 25,000 square feet of the existing building will be renovated. This will create space to house all College of Law legal clinics together.

Members of the College of Law Advisory Board and the Wyoming Bar spearheaded the effort to realize a modern and inspiring space for College of Law students. Construction is scheduled to begin in November and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
