The on-campus Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program features an innovative curriculum provided by a well-rounded and distinguished group of faculty members, along with on-site experiential learning in business environments. This combination was designed to provide our students with the skills necessary for career exploration and job placement. The joint degree program is for those looking to launch their career or round out their education with business experience. The JD/MBA concentrates on honing decision-making techniques on real business problems, developing managerial skills for successful leadership and improving interpersonal skills.
The JD/MBA program will take four years to complete. Students enrolled in the JD/MBA program will complete their first year of law school, then take a leave of absence to enroll full time in the College of Business. Students will complete three full semesters of core MBA courses, including a summer experiential learning project (30 credits). The MBA capstone course will be completed during the fall semester of the 2L year (the student's third year of the joint program) concurrent with law courses. Students completing this program will earn a Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Business Administration Degree.

Students apply separately for admission to the College of Law and and the College of Business. MBA requirements include a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, an online application, three letters of recommendation, a detailed resume, GMAT or GRE score, and official transcripts. Students can be admitted to both the MBA program and the College of Law at the same time. It is recommended for law students to be admitted to the MBA portion of the joint degree within the first semester of their first year.
Interested students should contact the Associate Dean of the College of Law. The College of Law will accept up to six credit hours of graduate level courses from other colleges at the University of Wyoming toward the J.D. degree, if taken during law school and approved by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
