The Honors Summer Bridge promotes critical and collaborative learning through exposure to unique learning environments.  Students will be challenged to engage with specialized opportunities to begin their college career at the utmost level of success.  They will create strong bonds with fellow students and faculty that will foster a supportive community.  Finally, they will become familiarized with Wyoming, Laramie, and the University of Wyoming to make the transition to college a positive and welcoming experience. The 2019 program will run from July 29th-August 23rd.

  • Take a political science class and a first-year seminar class, both of which are required of all University of Wyoming students.
  • Earn 6 credits before starting their Fall Semester.
  • Engage with specially designed learning experiences only offered to Honors Bridge students.
  • Have the freedom to explore new academic opportunities during their freshman year.
  • Live on campus with a small group of other bridge participants, building a community and support network.
  • Learn critical thinking and collaborative skills that will make them high achieving students.
  • Build key relationships with faculty, peer mentors, and staff.
  • Have fun exploring Wyoming’s beautiful outdoors and historical sites.

How does Honors Bridge give me freedom to explore different academic paths?

Honors Bridge is comprised of two courses, political science and first year seminar, which are required of all incoming freshman.  Students will complete these requirements and earn six credits before their freshman fall semester.  This will give them the freedom to take different courses.  Whether they are undecided on their major or simply want to take a variety of classes, they won't have to worry about an overbearing course load.
